To ensure your Car-Wizard repair proceeds as smoothly as possible for both of us, it would be beneficial to take the time to review the following booking instructions before your scheduled repair date.
Vehicle cleanliness
Although it’s not essential, a clean car definitely helps our technicians on arrival. Cleaned within a few days of the scheduled booking will be perfectly fine, assuming the vehicle is not heavily soiled with grime or mud.
Please do not have the vehicle valeted with waxes, silicones, or polishes prior to the repair. A general wash is sufficient. Any waxes applied to the car will likely cause a reaction and make it troublesome to make the repair area.
Space
Your repair address must be spacious enough to accommodate the erection of a 3x3 awning over your vehicle.
If your repair address can only accommodate parallel-parked vehicles, we will need the equivalent of 2.5 car spaces to allow enough room for our technicians to work from the rear of our vans.
We can work in a perpendicular parking arrangement. We just need enough space to allow us to park alongside your vehicle with enough working room to accommodate a 3x3 awning.
We can work on quiet side roads, call-de-sacs, and park across your driveway if we will not be restricting other motorists. Once we are set up and our van is powered, it’s not a simple task to move.
We would prefer to work away from other surrounding vehicles in close proximity.
Access to power
We need access to a standard power supply. Our technicians carry around 40 meters of extension cable.
Not present
If you will not be present for our technician's arrival, please ensure that you pass on any relevant instructions to locate your vehicle’s key and leave a live power supply out if you do not have exterior sockets.
Weather
We carry awnings and heating equipment. It takes extreme weather and temperatures for us not to be able to attend. Our technicians are actively monitoring the weather forecast, and we will notify you in advance repair if we have any concerns the weather.
Time allocation
While we always strive to be as punctual as possible, please note that we are estimating repair times. It’s difficult to be precise as every repair is unique and repairs have unforeseen complications.
If we are running behind, it’s because the customer before you is receiving the level of attention we will also give to your repair. We will notify you if there are any delays. Please notify us in advance if your appointment is time critical.
Drop-off & Collection times
We operate from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at our premises in Warmley. You are welcome to drop your car anytime or the day prior to your booking if this is more convenient. There is also no pressure to collect the same day.
Alloy repair
If you are booked for an alloy wheel repair service we will require your locking wheel nut. Having this out and left ready somewhere obvious is helpful.
We will put all locking wheel nuts back on the passenger seat upon completion, so you will be aware that we’ve returned the key to you.
It’s recommended that all repaired wheels have the nuts re-torqued after 20 miles. You’re welcome to visit our premises at any time for assistance, or you can visit your local tyre fitter.
Cancellations
To be as efficient as possible when commuting to remote areas, we bundle bookings by postcode area.
While we appreciate that issues arise and bookings need to be rearranged, please try to honour the date you have committed to unless it’s essential to postpone. A last-minute cancellation can have a knock-on effect for other scheduled customers in your local area. It may be necessary to cancel the other bookings as well, since the travel time is no longer justified.
