Alloy wheel powder coating is a complete restoration of your alloy. It is generally more suited for older alloy wheels that may have had previous bad repairs that are peeling, alloys that are heavily corroded, leaking air, require welding, or when a complete colour change of the alloy is desired. Or simply, when you want the very best alloy repair service possible.
Alloy Wheel Powder Coating Process
The process involves first removing the tyre. At which point one of our trained technicians will fully access the extent of the damage while checking for any buckles, or fractures they may require our alloy wheel straightening or alloy wheel welding services. At this stage we will also confirm a colour match for the alloy should you be keeping the original colour.
Your alloys will then be chemically stripped back to bare metal, removing all existing paint and corrosion. This stripping process takes around 3-4hrs. From here, your alloys are washed and fully baked to de-gas any remaining contaminants from the wheel. The alloy wheel is then hung in our purpose-built alloy powder coating spray booth and primed both inside and out before being returned to the oven to bake.
Once cured, we will then apply your chosen colour, and desired satin, matt, or gloss lacquer finish. Your alloy will then be baked to extreme temperatures giving you a solid, durable factory finish. Finally, before your tyres are refitted and rebalanced, your alloy will be inspected for quality control by one of our senior technicians. In effect, your alloys will be brand new, inside and out, and in some cases better than the day they left the factory.

Please note our alloy wheel powder coating service is only suited to be carried out at our CarCare premises. This service takes 1-2 days to complete. You can leave your vehicle at our secure, gated premises, or we can arrange collection of your alloys. We can also provide loan vehicles subject to availability. We may also be able to give you a set of loan alloys should your wheels be one of the popular offsets we keep in reserve, keeping you mobile while we carry out the repairs to your alloys.
